The black stallion walked into his home. The sand around his hooves made him sigh with pleasure. He loved his land and how he could control it. He was standing on the slope that lead down to the sea, and above him were the high cliffs that he stood upon when he was casting a storm. He looked up and saw dark clouds moving in from the horizon. Those were his clouds coming to great him. He reared and let a whinny escape him before he came down and looked around for his son.

The little colt was trying desperatly hard not to sink beneath that sand, but each step he took made him sink and he whickered desperatly at his father for help. He didn't understand the feeling of the sand around his hocks, and it frightened him.

The great stallion looked back and saw his foal. He smiled and then walked over to him, like he was walking on air. He touched his son's neck and whispered, "It is okay my son, it is only sand. Your hooves will get used to it. Think of it as....mud." He pulled his maw away and looked at his son, then took a few steps forward, wondering if the colt would follow, now that he knew it wouldn't hurt him.

The colt's pools were glowing gold, with the whites of his eyes showing as he tried to bound over the sand but ocntinued to sink. He finally got to his fathers side and leant against the stag as he walked, snorting as he did so. He knew he was safe, but it still felt odd.

Tryan lead his son over to the cliff, telling him he would be out of the sand shortly. So as soon as they got to the cliff he helped him up and let him stand on solid rock for a moment before he got up himself and said, "Follow me." The breeze got stronger as thet got higher, but that was okay with the black and blue stallion.

Arkanis was small and slim, so the wind tossed him a bit more roughly than his father, but he didn't mind. He bounced up the cliff, happier now that he was able to go fast again.

As soon as he came to the edge of the cliff, he snorted and put his neck out to stop the colt from going any further. He looked down and saw the now rough sea and the sharp rocks, that could kill a full grown stallion. He looked at his son and said, "This is where I command my land. The sea listens and so does the sky." He looked up and lightning flashed through the sky and a huge wave came crashing down beneath them, making the rock under their hooves tremble.

Arkanis bleated as the ground shook and he tossed his dial a bit. A tiny bolt of lightning riqochayed beside the lightning that Taryn had commanded. Arkanis blinked and danced in place. It didn't scare him but it was all so new that he was a bit surprised by it.

The stallion looked down at his son, very proud of him. He threw his head up and the thunder boomed. He swished his tail and said, "Very good son. Now try to make a wave with the wind." He showed the colt how to move the wind and use it to create a wave. He made a smaller one than the one before, just so he could show him.

Arkanis tried, but it was in vain. He wasn't strong enough to move the wind, only lightning, as was his specialty. He blinked and bleated.

Tryan looked at his son. "It's okay. One day you will get it, and be like me." It had taken him a while to learn all of the things needed in a storm. He had started off with lightning as well, but as he grew he figure the other things out. He nodded to himself and then stood there with his son. The storm had finally reached them and their pelts were getting very wet. The rain came down hard on their backs, but was soft enough not to hurt them.

The colt ducked under his father and stood there, hiding from the rain. He snorted as a drop landed on the edge of his maw and he shook his dial to rid himself of it.

The stallion looked down and said, "Follow me son." He walked down the cliff down back down to the sand. The sand was now dark, making it easyer to walk on. He swished his tail and waited for his son to come down.

Arkanis bucked his way down the hill, shaking the rain off of himself as he did so. As his feet hit the sand, he sunk and did a flip through the air before landing on his side. With a bleat, he stood up again, reared up and took off after his papa.

Tryan chuckled at his son, then he checked over him to make sure he was okay. He sighed and nuzzled his son, letting the sand fall off of him. He shook his head and then walked over to the water. He made the waves calm down and just lap at his hooves. He sighed when he felt the cool water hit his hooves.
