The paint colt walked along the beach. His land was growing well and his herd got bigger each month. His father had sired many foals and now they were all running around. He was not the oldest, but he was the one his father wished to have the herd. He held his head tall as he passed his older brothers along the sea shore. He was the boss of them now and they couldn't pick on him anymore for his odd coloring. He was one of five of his father's foals that had a paint coat. As soon as he passed his brothers he broke into a canter, letting his light colored mane and his dark colored tail fly about. He threw his head around, running like a wild horse. He nickered to some of the filly's on the slope leading down to the beach. Then he moved into a gallop, letting everything pass him by. The beach wasn't near a real ocean, but by a great lake. The sand was a darker color than the regular sand. He spun around and galloped past his brothers once more. His mane flying out behind and his tail like a flag. He was free and the leader of all the East.

Across the land, a comotion had sirred up, and a few stray colts were running across the land, there hooves lifted high, heads held close to their bods. They were natives there, but running with them, was a fae who was obviously new. She was pelted with melds of brown and white, and her banners contained locks of black. She pranced happily over the land, flicking her banner in the colts faces so they'd get the message to leave her alone, and they did. She pranced on, towards the stallion, somehow knowing he was the leader.

The paint turned when he heard his brothers calling his name. He saw a herd of colts and then a paint fae in the middle of them. He snorted and slowed down, his hooves now going at a trot. He passed his brothers and trotted over to the new fae. He slowed down when he came near her. His pelt was sandy, but he still looked handsome and like a strong leader. He threw his head up and said, "I am East, leader of this land. How may I help you?" He dipped his head down to her, after he had brought it down from the tossing. He waited for her answer, his blue eyes smiling to her.

The fae glided to a halt and closed her ebony fire eyes for a moment before speaking, her tones were tainted with kindness. "I am Valsharess and I come from the North. I am seeking to join a new herd." She dipped her dial in respect and tossed her tassles a bit.

The colt made a nose. "Really? Why would you be seeking a new herd?" His own eyes shone and his paint pelt was moist. He swished his tail, sending a few water droplets into the air and onto the dark sand. He didn't wait for her to answer before he said, "I am East or Eshwar. It was what my father called me." His eyes lost their brightness in them for a moment as he thought of his father, then they shone once more. He stood there, prancing like a young colt in the sand and not like the leader he really was inside.

"There was nothing for me in my old herd. My brother, North, let me and my twin wonder to join new herds. He said I would be safe with one of the Renegade Four." Her patterned coat shone brightly, and her intelligant pools blinked.

"Oh, well he was right about that." He swished his tail and looked at her. He didn't know what else to say. He blinked once and then turned his gaze to the very large lake. He couldn't even see the other side, that was how big it was. He pricked his ears forward when he saw his older brothers coming towards them. They were really half brothers, but he was glad about that. He rolled his orbs and said, "Here comes my stupid brothers."

Valsharess stepped up to East's side and watched his brothers draw closer. She noticed a small one trailing behind the bigger horses, about the same age but... dwarf like. She dropped her dial when the little horse came into veiw and she realized he was actually not a pony, just stunted, born and bred oddly. She lifted her dial and flashed the little one a smile before looking at the others. She didn't know why East had called them stupid.

East threw his head up and said, "Welcome brothers." He swished his tail like he was mad, he got no answer back from the brothers. The oldest colt looked at the new female. "Hey babe." He said, his voice deep. It sounded like he had made it deep. East rolled his eyes and looked over to her. "Sorry." He whispered to her. Then he looked at them and they walked away, he had his mean face on.
