Natala walked along the sea shore. Her body was getting older and she could feel it. She was now five, not too old, but older than the ones around her. She looked out towards the underground ocean. The waves lapped at the cool sand and her hooves. She stopped and breathed deep. She closed her eyes and listened to the waves and her own heart beat. But that was interupted with the sound of her name. She turned and saw her son cantering towards her.
Noche's Mask came cantering down the slope. His mane wipped out behind him like a flag. He slowed down as he came to his mother. He touched her sholder and got his breath back before he asked, "Mom...Rex wants me to go....with him...to the caves. Can I?" He still hadn't gotten his breath back and made his words come out slow. He waited for his mother's answer.
She looked at him and said, "You may go, but be back before sundown." She nuzzled his neck and then watched him canter off again, his muscles ripped under his coat. She smiled, glad that his father had given him the handsome look. She swished her tail and sighed. The two year old could be a hand full, but he was loved just as much.

Le Soleil had long since dissapeared from the land where sun dappled the earth. Some said she had lost her life and now ran beside her peers in the clouds, night and day together again, others said she had hidden away after being haunted by a stag who had saught to steal her, but most true was that she had left for whatever reason.
Eclissi, her son, remained, and possessed all the strength, courage and benevolence of Noche himself. It was almost as if the mighty stag had trained the two year old himself. Eclissi walked through the herd, many of the mares older than he with foals now frolicking at their sides. A collection of young filla's that he'd hearded now dwelt in the land as well, but he had not yet fathered any of his own foals, as he saw no need - and he was too young.
He walked up the ridge, the sun hitting his dark coat, sending a show of glossy muscles dancing down his pelt, his cream banners swept back by the wind, rippling like the sun itself, his pools fixed on the sky, wondering where his mother was. A strong gust of wind made him feel that she was safe and he gave a content sigh, pounding his dagger on the earth happily as he did so.

Natala walked off the beach, her long mane flowed down her side and onto her shoulder. As she came up the slope going down to the beach, she saw the rest of the land. There was streams flowing and lush, green grass growing everywhere. Tree were full and leaves were the darkest, or lightest green. There were butterflys flying around with the birds and then there were the foals. Herds of them, grouping themselves. She sighed, the land was wonderful and it had all started with her and her sister. She came over the slope and trotted over to the post where Le always stood. She breathed in the cool breeze, knowing her sister was somewhere, safe. She looked around and saw a herd of colts, two years old. She saw her son, the leader of the small "herd". She was proud of him, he was just like his father. And she missed him as well.
Mask turned and began to speak to his small band of colts. They were all the same age, and only one was younger. The small white colt stood in the back, his pelt no matching any of the rest. Mask liked the little one, he always kept up. Once he was done speaking he turned and moved into a trot, leading his herd to the back of the land, towards the caves.

Eclissi made no attempt to follow the other colts. He was the leader of the herd now, and that meant he had no time to wander off and play, but he had to always stand guard in case he was needed. He watched over his herd, his pools on the group of fillas who were giggling and laughing, and he wondered what had become of his father.

Natala walked over to Eclissi. She knew he missed his mother just as much as she did. She had lost many in the two years sense her son's birth and Eclissi's birth. She looked at him and said, "You look troubled. What's the matter?" She wondered if the young colt had something on his mind, but she didn't know what.

Eclissi turned his dial to his favorite mare, his cream locks falling down before his eyes to hide them - the trait that had been most known to Noche. "I am fine. Thinking is all. I miss my family." He turned his pools to the land, and flicked his banner. "I am afraid I will forget them I guess." He would always remember his mother, as she was there when he looked at the sun or felt the wind in his tressles, but his father he struggled to remember, and others that had been lost he barely remembered at all.

She looked at him and said, "You will never forget. They will always be in your heart and I am still here. I promise I will be here, never leave you." She touched his neck with her maw, then pulled away. She knew that Mask had a problem remembering his father as well, but he let that go and stayed with his herd. She looked at her nephew and sighed. He would be okay.

"I know. And I am grateful." He offered her a smile before looking to the sky. It was alot of responsibility for a two year old to lead a herd of that size. And alone too. He would have to find a mate soon he knew, to help with leading the herd. They needed an alpha mare.

OOC-I am making her now.
Natala nodded and then looked at the small band of fillys. There were a few pretty ones, but they were all kind of snoby. She swished her tail and said, "I will be here to help you. Please remember that." Her buckskin pelt shone in the sunlight and her blue eyes showed sorrow for the young colt.

[Kewlios]
"I will never forget that, m'lady." He put on a fake knightly tone and a strong pose, pretending to be all noble. He flashed her a grin as if to say, You know I'm joking. He looked back at the herd, from the filla's to the foals, to the mares and colts. It seemed all that herd did was grow.

Natala looked up. Nochie's son, and her half brother was the leader above this herd. She wondered how he was in the darkness. She smiled at Eclissi and touched his sholder with her maw. She knew he needed someone to be his mother, some how. She sighed and said, "Would you like to...one day see the world above?"

Eclissi nodded his dial. "One day... I would like to see the moon, yes. But my place is here." His sun tainted banners were caught in the wind. He was part of the sun, offspring of Le Soleil, grandson of Noche. His foals would be the great grandchildren of the noble stag. Kohala was the one who had carried on the Night herd, and Le Soleil had branched off to form the Sun herd. He knew the eclipse would bring both herds together, but until then he was content with the sun, even if his heart did ache for the night.

She smiled, glad that he wished to be apart of the night. She was a part of the night herself. The darkness of her mane, and the long black strips on her legs were signs that she was part of the dark. She sighed, knowing Mask couldn't wait until the time to meet the herd above.
A small band of colts ran into view. In the front of the herd was a golden colored two year old. The figure looked different from the others. The long white mane and tail stood out with the dark manes and the bright color of the pelt made it stick out even more. As the herd ran by a group of fillys they all began to laugh and the golden one snorted and made a reply, but kept on with the herd.

Eclissi stepped forward, his hooves hovering on the brink of the cliff, his bright pools on the golden femme, his cream banners tossed about by the wild wind, his coat dappled with the sunlight. She was different. Her colour was not rare for the herd, as many palominos and creams dwelt there, but she was different. She ran with the colts. It fascinated Eclissi, and he made a bounding jump down into the valley, his strides carrying him past the group of fillies, towards the herd that ran about.

Natala watched the colt run off, wondering why he was chasing that herd of colts, but then she saw the golden light. It was Golden Angel, or Pieces like the colts called her.
The filly ran on, her muscles building up in her sholders, legs back and everywhere. She was one of the colts when she ran with them. Close to the front and earing a place higher each day. She threw her head up and then turned it when she heard one of the colts say slow down. They all slowed to a canter and then to a trot. She snorted, wanting to run, but then she saw the leader of all the herds and she stood still with the rest of her herd. Her golden pelt sticking out with the bays.
